Draper Days 10 Mile Trail Run

Again, this run happened in June, and I am FINALLY getting around to posting about it. This is possibly my FAVORITE paid-for fun I have ever done! The WHOLE thing was on trails, so narrow you had to run single-file. It felt like I was running through a forest all alone, since most of the time the only living things I could see were the beautiful trees surrounding the trail on both sides. STUNNING! The first 4 miles or so were up hill. This was followed by 1.5 miles of downhill, where my (at the time) 19 week pregnant body actually was able to feel like it could RUN and not just shuffle. It felt good to feel like that restriction was temporarily gone! (I get SUPER slow uphill and on flat ground when I am pregnant- just look at the pics, but downhill for some reason still feels good.) Anyway, the last 5.5 miles or so were an out and back to the finish line (up hill at the end, hence the terrible form I have) where Ben and Mariah were waiting for me, along with my friend Heather Ballard (who finished about 7 minutes ahead of me) and her hubby and little girls. If you look closely, you can see Mariah chasing me in to the finish line. It was so so fun and I can't wait to do it again next year! (You are doing it with me Katie and Beth!)

  1. Loved all your new pictures! I still can't believe you are running so much. You are my hero. Gavin wanted to race in the backyard, and besides almost having pee dripping down my leg, I was pooped and he won. ( I was even trying). Hope you are still feeling great!
